Meon Valley Gallery

Like Hillhead and Stoke's bay Meon Valley is protected by the Isle Of Wight from any swells. It is situated slightly further north up the Solent next to a nature reserve. If you want some small jumping it is best to windsurf at Hillhead in most wind directions because the sandbanks are not as well defined. That said, the freeride conditions here are equally as good but there will be less people on the water.

High tide is really the best time for action to allow you to get straight on the water without walk across the shingle and mud.

Features

Meon Valley varies from nearby Hillhead and Stoke's Bay in that a NW wind is cross shore and can deliver some excellent cross shore freestyle conditions. The other time that it is good to windsurf here is in a SE.

Considerations

There is a long groyne that should be avoided at low tides as a bar has built up around it that can claim fins.
