Freshwater West Gallery
Freshwater west has been the venue for many Surfing competitions due to its quality waves and tendency to catch the most swell. It is the most consistent beach in terms of swell in the region and has a wider swell window than the other beaches.
Options for wave-riding vary from reef breaks at the Southern end of the bay to a series of beach breaks.
This is all accessible to windsurfers in South-south asterly to South west winds. Bring a surf board in case there is no wind.
Features
Keep an eye out for south-south easterlies. Down the line wave-riding is the result along with an enhanced wind strength from the surrounding hills.
Considerations
Powerful waves off the reef. Pay attention to other water users here.
