Thurso feels as exposed as one might think for a spot perched on the northern tip of Scotland and is an adventure for advanced level windsurfers only. The bay is well exposed to swells from both a W and N direction and can easily holds sets up and over mast high in size.
The launching area is from a single slight rocky beach next to the harbour.
Considerations
It might be worth considering the remoteness of this location along with safety cover. Look after yourselves, take spare rope, windsurf in a group and have a great adventure.
