Rutland is a picturesque area of countryside approximately 30 kilometres East of Leicester, and offers a perfect haven for inland windsurfers who don't have the time of inclination to get to the coast. The lake is a fairly peaceful place to be with only sailing boats and windsurfers allowed to launch. The fee is however approx. �£10. Ideally the wind will be WNW, S, E or SW. The most popular end of the bay is Whitwell that which faces South and catches the best of the Sout Westerlies.
