Carsington reservoir is a picturesque reservoir set in the heart of Derbyshire, bordering on the peak district. The windsurfing is flat water windsurfing with plenty of sheltered areas and a couple of bays to land in for those getting used to the sport. Out of the main bay there is a long stretch of water, that comes to life as wind funnels down the valley, letting you blast the whole stretch of the bay.

If you live in this part of the midlands, then this is the only place you can windsurf at. There is plenty of parking, a windsurfing shop and centre and a thriving windsurfing scene with plenty of friendly locals to even help you rig up. The windsurfing area is beautiful, it is hard to get a better setting
